The 30 mile radius for free delivery can be seen in the map below. The 30 miles radius starts at our store location in Sturgis, S.D.. If you are outside of this radius… we still deliver! Delivery outside of our 30 mile radius is available at a per/mile rate.

How long does a custom build take?

The current estimated build time for a custom shed is two weeks. The estimated build time will be updated as necessary. Estimated build time is based on current production load at the built site.

Does a custom build cost more?

There is no additional fee involved with a custom build. The options you select will change the cost. Buildings purchase on-site are priced to include the options selected. Options selected for the on-site buildings are selected by the build site.

How long will delivery take?

Delivery typically takes a week to complete after completion of purchase on an on-site building or custom build. Peak season and poor conditions can add extra days to the normal delivery time. The approximated delivery time is not applicable to build on site buildings.

What is “Build On Site”?

“Build On Site” is a program available to customers where delivery is not an option or a customer wants a custom solution. Old Hickory Buildings cannot paint, water seal, or urethane “Build On Site” buildings. The estimated time of completion for “Build On Site” programs is two-six weeks (weather permitting).

Where are these buildings made?

All buildings/sheds are built here, in South Dakota.

Are there any restrictions on the location or size of my new storage building/shed?

The City of Sturgis, S.D. requires a building permit for storage buildings/sheds over 144 square feet. 
If it is less than 144 square feet, you do not need a building permit, but the structure must meet all set-back requirements for your zone. For questions regarding building permits and zoning in the City of Sturgis, S.D., please contact the Planning & Permitting Department at (605) 347-4422. For other areas, contact your City Office, they will assist you in answering questions related to building permits and zoning.

Are there financing options?

What is “90 Days Same as Cash”?

If you choose to complete a RTO (Rent to Own) contract, the “90 Days Same as Cash” option is available to you. A security deposit and first month’s rent are due at time of signing the contract. If the building is paid for in-full within 90 days of the completion of the contract, all fees associated with the RTO (Rent to Own) contract will be waived and applied to the overall balance.

What type of customization is available?

We offer a variety of customization options for the exterior and interior of your new building. Once you’ve selected the style of building you’d like, you have several optional add-on packages to choose from. A few of these packages are; the Playhouse, Deluxe Playhouse, Side Porch, Utility Former, and Garage. The roofing material and color can be selected. The siding may be painted, sealed, stained, or urethaned in a variety of colors. Lofts, workbenches, and shelves can be added to your custom build.
